Happy 2014! I’m still at home in Syracuse, where the weather is playing mind tricks on me and I’ve been doing more sewing than socializing, as usual.
We had a great New Year’s Eve out at camp, during which we played this ridiculous game that Kelly found. We each had on a necklace and if you said the word “no,” you had to give yours up. It turned into a highly entertaining thing that lasted for several hours and resulted in lots of trickery and resentment. Which is right up our alley.
My favorite was witnessing one of my little cousins go up to his mom and say enthusiastically “ARE YOU DRUNK?!” in an effort to obtain her necklace. She looked at him and said “Yes. Yes I am.”
We also played this charades game, and several rounds of Catch Phrase. This is what every 24 year old does on NYE, right?
I think we should have continued playing because Kevin would owe us about 27 necklaces. Every time I try to cook us a nice dinner he bitches and moans about having to try it. The child lives on plain pasta and French bread pizzas. You shouldn’t trust his palate though, my parents loved this dish, and it’s healthy so I figured it was a good way to kick off the new year.
