buffalo chicken burgers

It’s grillin’ season.

Sometimes when you grill, it smells so delicious that unexpected guests arrive.

I dislike cats. A lot. I’d like to say it’s because I’m allergic (my eyes swell shut) but they really just creep me out. Sorry, cat lovahs. I’m a dog person.

Yes, that’s a TV you see. It kind of exploded. While watching Unfaithful! Devastating. And yes, I took this picture peeking through the blinds. That’s how afraid I am.

Back to this cat. It wanders our alley. So when I walked outside with raw poultry on a plate,  naturally he/she flocked to it and I danced around kicking and yelling hoping she’d be scared and run away.

And that the hot boys who just moved in two doors down didn’t happen to be looking out the window.

But if they were, I could have offered them a burger. Girl knows how to cook, check.

Buffalo Chicken Burgers

adapted from PreventionRD

1 lb ground chicken (I used 98% fat free)

2 tbs buffalo wing sauce

1 tbs olive oil

1/4 cup panko bread crumbs

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

pinch salt and pepper

4 whole wheat hamburger buns

blue cheese dressing, wing sauce, and red onion slices to top

Mix the chicken, wing sauce, oil, bread crumbs, and seasonings until just combined.

Separate into four sections, and gently form into patties. In this lighting, they look like Nickelodeon food.

Oil the grill, then place over the heat for 4 or 5  minutes on each side. When the burger starts to come away from the grill, it is ready to turn.

They should be slightly firm in the center when cooked. Top with sauces and onions. Juicy and delicious.

Inhale.

And somebody come claim this cat.
