tuna burgers

Yesterday was the first day I had to dress up for school, because I had my clinic rotation.

I generally prefer to wear sweatpants or something equally comfortable if I have to sit and take notes in a three hour class, but sometimes it’s fun to get dressed up. Plus I’ve gotten asked if I was a freshman like four times already so I guess I need to make it clear to the clients that I’m supposed to be there.

My euphoria over looking professional was dampened slightly when a car pulled up next to mine and a man leaned out the window and said “Hey, you fancy today baby.”

I’m starting to understand how Charm City got its name.

I’m also slightly disturbed by the addition of “today” because as far as I know he’s never seen me before..

These tuna burgers (stolen from Can You Stay for Dinner) were kind of like me yesterday. Something simple like a can of tuna dressed up to resemble something fancier. Molly even said they tasted like crab cakes.

Did I just compare myself to canned fish?

Audiology is really killing my creative writing skills.

Lemon Garlic Tuna Burgers

2 cans tuna in water, drained

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

3 tbs sour cream

1/4 cup scallions, finely chopped

1 egg

1 clove garlic, minced

juice of half a lemon

salt and pepper

Mix all the ingredients together until thoroughly combined.

Divide into four portions and shape into burgers.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion. Or whatever you like!

My addition of plate garnishes was another attempt to dress up something simple. Maybe later I’ll put on jewelry and straighten my hair to sit around and do math problems. Such an exciting life, this is.
